The above snapped at the Yasothon rocket festival this past week, where cross-dressing is de rigueur.
Much as the often dainty physique and soft, almost feminine features of many Thais often lend themselves to dressing up as girls, and sometimes very effectively too, there's many a girl hidden inside somewhat less dainty chaps, just longing to get out. And when they do escape, you have to hand it to them. They've got a nerve!

Gotta give it to the Thai drag queens. I can hardly tell them from really beautiful women there!
Martyn, I shudder at the thought and anyway my cue is hidden away and out of commission until I get back to my favourite table. I've given up playing away games, I'm just not good enough.
Smorg yes some of the real katoeys are almost indistinguishable from the real thing, although I'm (almost) certain I've managed to identigy them so far...
I like your photographs of Katoey - they look like they are having a lot of fun. The intersex of Thailand seem to know how to have fun and are very snappy dressers!
