Keep on smiling ...

Following a recent blog comment about the benefits of positive thinking, just to get the ball rolling again I'm publishing a circular email that I've just received in Thai and English...

Apologies to those who have missed my blogs, and thanks for the messages of support... I'm now back in France, together with Pi Ploy and our baby, and will be getting back in the swing of things shortly!

If you think you are unhappy, look at them.

If you think your salary is low, how about her?

If you think you don't have many friends......

When you feel like giving up, think of this man.

If you think you suffer in life, do you suffer as much as he does?

If you complain about your transport system, how about theirs?

If your society is unfair to you, how about her?

Enjoy life how it is and as it comes. Things are worse for others and a lot better for us

There are many things in your life that will catch your eye but only a few will catch your heart---- pursue those.

Well, it gave me pause for thought, anyway. Some of us do need reminding occasionally ;-)

Welcome back, and I hope things are now on the up for you & family.

I found some of the images in this blog depressing, but it certainly does remind of how things could be much worse.

Particularly liked the transitory (impermanance) message - I find it very helpful in dealing with all manner of things.

Hi Pete nice to see you back I have missed your witty columns, although this post is somewhat sobering and certainly got my attention.

Welcome back Pete you've been truly missed. I hope your wife and baby have settled in well.

Don't mention to Pi Ploy about the French and their love of frog legs or your battery torch, baseball cap and snooker cue will go missing and Pi Ploy will be out all night.

I had just looked out of the window at the gale force winds and lashing rain currently hitting my hometown here in Swindon and thought what a hard life. I would have to drag my weary ass one mile to the pub and spend some easily earned money on a few beers. I'd dry out once there, wet my insides, get soaked going home, fall asleep and dry out again in both senses of the word. Life sucks and then I read your post. I've got a stroll down easy street.
